PLG YOUNG COMPOSERS NEW YEAR SYMPOSIUM 2001 Paul Patterson director In close collaboration with the Composition Departments of City University Goldsmiths' College, Guildhall School of Music & Drama, King's College London, Kingston University, London College of Music at Thames University, Royal Academy of Music, Royal College of Music, Royal Holloway College, Trinity College of Music, University of Surrey Music Department. The highly successful PLG Young Composers' New Year Symposium is now in its fourth year. The PLG's purpose is to provide an annual London platform linked with the PLC New Year Concerts at which talented composers from the eleven colleges have the opportunity of hearing each other's works. The Symposium performances are recorded solely for the benefit of the composers and the artists. Discussions, talks (Philip Cashian 12th, Anthony Payne 13th) and demonstrations feature prominently during the two days. The participants also have the chance of attending the PLC New Year concerts without charge. Snack lunches will be available for purchase. PLG Friends and members of the public are welcome to attend.
