Policy
The free use of Park Lane House, 45 Park Lane, London W1 led to the founding of the Park Lane Group in 1956 with the principal aims of providing a prominent central London platform for highly talented young artists and for presenting events of special interest.
This policy of creative opportunity has been continued for 54 seasons resulting in an excellent Track Record. Well over 1,500 young artists have been presented over the years and an important proportion have achieved international and national careers. In addition, adventurous and imaginative programming, has established the PLG as a leading platform for young performers of outstanding talent.
Current PLG policy is centred on 12 sets of activities:
PLG Young Artists New Year Series
12 concerts, a vibrant PLG cornerstone in the Southbank Centre’s Purcell Room.
High qualily performances of imaginative and stimulating music. including:
new works, living composers, and contemporary classics.
Plus the PLG Young Composers’ Symposium in early December, bringing together young composers from 11 music departments of leading colleges and universities.
